Tony Batchelor

Tony was a wonderful, kind-hearted family man who loved his family unconditionally and lived life to the full.
Tony sadly passed away on Wednesday 13th April 2022 having only been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in February, just 7 weeks and 6 days after diagnosis. Tony was very fit and active. He came out of retirement to work 3 mornings a week delivering medication for a local pharmacy. He loved walking our dog, going to watch Gloucester Rugby and playing skittles twice a week. At diagnosis, Tony was given just months as it had already spread to his liver and peritoneum. We were in shock - it had only been an unusual tummy pain that had taken him to the GP in February. We decided to make a list of things we wanted to do but sadly Tony became unwell very quickly and we didn’t tick anything off. He was also too unwell for chemotherapy, which may have given him a few more weeks.
For Tony, pancreatic cancer was a silent killer. More research is desperately needed to develop universal screening that will detect this cruel disease at a curative stage. Thank you for your donations in Tony’s memory towards this cause.
