Venetia Carrigan

Venetia , a strong ,courageous, determined deaf woman who had lived in a world of silence as a result of her deafness since birth , even though her world was anything but silent . A wife , mother , nana and great grandma that had to have strength all her life not just at the end

On a beautiful sunny , spring day in the north of England ,Carlisle Venetia passed away in the afternoon . As she had wanted ,she was surrounded by her immediate family that had given her so much joy . Her deaf husband , Derek . Her son's Paul and Kevin Carrigan were present aswell as her devoted daughter Yvonne and her son in law , Gordon Walton , granddaughter Alice and grandson Ben . We were all there when she passed , holding her hands , each saying our goodbyes in our own way so that she could feel our presence .

During the days before she passed , her three granddaughters and their partners Laura and Maty Bell ,Hannah and Jack Bowman and Emily Carrigan and Jack Hill said their touching goodbyes too .

Family was everything to Venetia and she loved to spend time with her great granddaughters Ada, Florence , Daisy and Sonny her great grandson . Aswell as her frequent visits back to South Africa to see her extended family and school friends throughout the Cape Town region

Venetia was a fighter right until the end and we were blessed to have had her in our lives longer than expected , enjoying her last Birthday , Christmas and Mothers Day filled with laughter and joy

Venetia , Our angel now has her wings . Go fly in your sequins that you loved so much and we know you will be able to sing , hear and listen to all our voices on the other side . Her sparkle will be missed by all but we know you'll always be by all our sides. We love you , our memories are a blessing that will be with us forever.
