To paraphrase a letter from a friend. "She was of course the life and soul of every party. She was both fun and very funny but behind the facade of the person that we all knew was a very impressive woman. She always brightened my day and sometimes even scared me a little."

She loved all beings, on two legs or four and she was capable of hugely thoughtful and always discreet acts of kindness, particularly to those less fortunate than herself.
