Ronnie was larger than life, had a smile and time for everyone he met.

A tribute is an acknowledgment of gratitude, respect or admiration and we as a family are proud to say we have all of the above when talk of Ronnie or Ronald (as called by his mum)

Beloved son to Mina & Jock, brother to Jacqueline, husband to Anne Marie (which was his final wish) and much loved father to his sons Thomas, Taylor, Leon and Rory and new daughter in law Jess. Special friend to his stepson Ryan, and his nephew Callum. Loved by all his aunties, uncles, cousins, and in-laws alike.

Ronnie was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in August 2021. We knew what to expect as his father had passed with this same illness just 5 years previously. Although this time, sadly, we all thought and expected we would have more time at the end. No matter how prepared you think you are it’s still devastating.

Ronnie was larger than life, had a smile, and time for everyone he met.

Ronnie was part of the Dalkeith Miners now Dalkeith Thistle Football Club in its various guises for over 40 years, as player, coach, active fundraiser, organiser and friend to all. Always happy to get involved and help others in need.

The club and his family and friends will continue our efforts of recent years to support Pancreatic Cancer UK, a cause close to our hearts and will continue our fundraising in his name.

Always in our thoughts.
