Ron Moore

‘Enjoy your life, what’s the point in worrying! It won’t change a thing!’
When Ron got his diagnosis it didn’t faze him. He had only been poorly for a short time but the cancer was already advanced. He accepted it with courage and bravery. He always remained hopeful that he might have more time to spend with his family and friends but it wasn’t to be. His illness developed quickly and Ron became very poorly. It was a very difficult journey to make with his family by his side, often confusing with little support or help. It was the phone calls and emails from the specialist nurses at pancreatic cancer care that were so valued. They gave Ron and his family honest advice and support through his illness, guiding them through every stage and symptom he faced. They were truly amazing and quickly returned calls and emails, always in a kind and considerate way, no problem too big or small. We always felt better after talking to the nurses and they shined a light during those dark days.
I hope the donations will support another family who have to face pancreatic cancer with a loved one. It gives us some relief knowing that donations will help a family to get the advice and support that we did. It would be amazing to think that donations will help fund early diagnosis and research into this terrible illness.
