Remember & Celebrate Martin Clark

Martin Clark made an enduring and precious difference to so many people in so many ways. While he was and remains a much-loved and missed husband, son, brother, uncle and friend - Martin impacted most people during stages of their life when great care matters most. For this, with countless residents, health carers, staff, community members, and friends, we his family are eternally grateful for him and all he contributed in all the different parts and stages of his life.

Martin’s endless passion and vision, his steadfast resilience, and his boundless dynamism will have long-lasting impacts on those he worked with and cared for over his professional life. He exemplified how to be caring and yet pragmatic. How to overcome perilous adversity with steadfast determination. How to deal with the most serious while staying and being optimistic and fun. We miss and mourn all who he was for each of us - and his presence and influence on so many lives- but we remain so very grateful for this.

From his early years – and in all things, Martin spent his life making a difference by building amazing things: recognizing when something needed to be done, being caring and astute enough to do the right things (often himself!), and tapping his energy and skills to make a difference. We all can't quite believe he is no longer with us.

As in life, Martin had fantastic and optimistic visions of the years ahead. Even until his last days. That he won't get to do this, is tragic and to the loss of all those his packed but too short life touched. This is why your support of care and research into pancreatic cancer in celebration and memory of Martin matters so much.

Know that while this cancer is one of the top 10 most common cancers, affecting over 3000 people under 65 in the UK each year, it kills a greater proportion of them than any other cancer.
