Phil Jones

Dad was a great man, who always had time for others and treated everyone with respect. He was extremely generous to his friends and family and always took great pleasure in giving people a little pack of meat or a gift of vegetables from the garden. He always liked to give the grandchildren a little bit of pocket money before they went on holiday, with a gentle word of 'make sure you get thing nice and treat yourself'.

He was a real man of the countryside, with an appreciation of the fields, trees and wildlife, and he would love his long 'yomps' with his dogs in his earlier years, which usually involved a brief stop at a local watering hole. He was a fabulous stockman, who took pride in every animal he had - be it the cattle in the early years to the sheep in his latter years, he would treat everyone of them with tenderness and kindness.

Most amazingly of all though, was his love of his family and his kindness, generosity and support that he showed to us - he literally would of done anything for us, and as a family we will all be eternally grateful. We will miss you so much old man, but we will cherish every memory that we had with you. You'll be stood on every touchline, you'll have a place at every dining table and you'll be part of every special memory. We will cry with you, laugh with you and love with you, as we know you will always be at our side.
