Peter Jakins

Peter Jakins died on 16th May 2018, aged just 64. He was taken away from us far too soon, just over a week after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. We miss him more than words can ever express and we want to raise awareness and fund research in his memory to hopefully create a brighter future for those diagnosed with this devastating disease.
Peter was the rock of our family, the foundation of all that we are today and we will be forever grateful for all that he did for us, the love we shared and the precious memories we have of him in our lives. He was a wonderful husband, the best father and a loving grandfather. He was a caring friend to everyone he met and he will be sorely missed by so many.
He was generous and kind, always thinking of everyone else and putting the needs of others first. He was rightly proud of reaching over 100 blood donations in his life, and also gave platelets which could help save newborn babies. He also regularly gave to charity, including a monthly donation to Cancer Research, so he would be pleased to be able to continue helping others in his memory.
Over the last decade, less than one percent of UK cancer research spend has been directed towards pancreatic cancer. Pancreatic cancer needs bold investment to transform the future and to deliver the step change that can alter the outcome for those diagnosed with this devastating disease.
