Mo Thandasseri

A dearly loved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to many - a financial adviser to more. Energised by family, friends and golf!
Dad was a young 80 years old. He was still working, playing golf and walking every day when he started to get some back ache in the evenings. Back ache that went away with paracetamol. Next month a scan showed he had a 4cm tumour on his pancreas, the following month this was diagnosed as stage 4 cancer.
Dad was so strong in accepting his diagnosis and prognosis. He was incredible and very clear that he had been fortunate to have a wonderful life. His strength and outlook carried us all through this devasting news. We cared for him at home and he passed peacefully 3 months after his diagnosis.
By all accounts we were lucky to have that time with him, some people only have days/weeks after diagnosis. 80% of people with pancreatic cancer are diagnosed too late for life saving treatment.
Six months later we are still in shock at how quickly we lost him. We’re heartbroken. I’ve no doubt that if this cancer had been caught early enough, he was strong and fit enough to survive.
We would like to raise funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK – late diagnosis is one of the biggest issues in pancreatic cancer but Pancreatic Cancer UK are investing in ground-breaking research to change this. Please help if you can.
