A much loved husband, dad, grandad, brother, uncle and a special friend to so many.
Dad was diagnosed on 6th November 2020 with advanced pancreatic cancer and was not offered any treatment. He faced this with immense courage and dignity sadly leaving us 67 days later, on 12th January 2021. In accordance with Dad's wishes we cared for Dad at home, where he had lived for over 53 years.
Dad was a very young 81 year old- he lovingly tended his garden, a dedicated volunteer at Addenbrookes, and enjoyed spending time at his caravan in North Norfolk.
It is very clear from all the messages and calls that Dad received during his short illness, how many were privileged to call Dad a friend.
His enjoyment in life was simply based on spending quality time with friends and family. He had a mischievous sense of humour and enjoyed a few pints too!
Unfortunately our precious Dad is now added to the dismal statistics which do not make good reading. Funding is woefully low (at only 2% of the Cancer Research budget), yet it is the 5th biggest cancer killer in England.

Our Dad was laid to rest exactly 12 weeks from diagnosis- the poem below was a small part of the tribute read at his funeral.
