John Entwistle

Loving husband, father, grandfather. A free-spirited Lancastrian, joyful and never happier than when singing! We will all miss you...
John Entwistle, husband, father and grandfather to 13 grandchildren died on Wednesday 4th August 2021, aged 85, after a recent diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
John always had an adventurous spirit and was a jovial character, who loved conversation and meeting people. He was a member of several choirs, including The Rosendale Male Voice Choir and latterly, The Radcliffe Male Voice Choir, where he was truly happy.
As a trained engineer, he also loved cars, trucks, motorbikes and getting absorbed in their mechanics.
John had many happy memories of his early life growing up in the Rossendale valley, Lancashire and was very proud of his heritage and lengthy family connections to the area. John had a deep interest in local history and had a very strong affection for Haslingden, where he was born, lived all his life and died. A true son of Rossendale, he was greatly loved and will be terribly missed by us all.
In John’s memory, please consider a donation to Pancreatic Cancer UK, which is working to fund life-saving research and to treat this devastating disease and provide support to those affected.
