Henry Arthur Hill

Harry loved life and lived it with a huge smile.
On the 23rd of June 2024 we lost our amazing Dad, Harry, to Pancreatic Cancer after such a brave battle.
The money that was donated at Dad’s celebration of life service has gone to Pancreatic Cancer UK in Dads memory and we really hope that is will make a difference and enable further research into this awful disease.
Harry loved life with a passion and cared deeply about his family and friends.
Harry was a devoted husband and fiercely proud Dad and Grandad.
Harry was a keen wildfowler when he was younger and this hobby turned into a passion for birdwatching which saw him volunteer for the RSPB at Burton Mere for 19 years and he only retired from this in 2023.
Harry loved his garden and in summer months grew spectacular hanging baskets, beautifully cascading red begonias and the tallest sun flower which grew up the side of the house and were admired by all who passed by, this gave Harry a great opportunity to chat to friends and neighbours as they walked passed.
Harry loved to holiday in the Highlands of Scotland and loved the flora and fauna of the Greek Islands.
Harry had many friends and loved to socialise and enjoyed helping people whenever he could.
Harry loved life so much and was such an amazing role model to his children and grandchildren. He was always smiling, we miss him so very much.
A life well lived is a precious gift
Of hope and strength and grace,
From someone who has made our world
A brighter, better place.
It’s filled with moments, sweet and sad
With smiles and sometimes tears,
With friendships formed and good times shared
And laughter through the years.
A life well lived is a legacy
Of joy and pride and pleasure,
A living, lasting memory
Our grateful hearts will treasure.
