Hazel's smile lit the room, she was beautiful inside and out, very rare. 1962 - 2022

Hazel, beloved wife to Gary and devoted and caring mother to sons Ross & Elliot was very fit and healthy until early June 2021. After feeling ill for several weeks, rushed to A&E when she noticed her eyes had gone yellow, 3 days later diagnosed with stage 4 inoperable pancreatic cancer. A course of chemotherapy had no impact and Hazel passed away at home with her family at her side 25th April 2022.

Hazel loved life, holidays, her family (youngest sibling to sisters Julie & Libby & brother Stewart) and had a large social circle of friends, demonstrated by over 250 people attending her funeral.

After her cancer diagnosis, Hazel was always positive, brave even inspirational to many – more interested in listening to others than talking about herself, protecting those closest to her from her pain.

Family and close friends (Annette) wanted to raise money for PC UK immediately and Hazel decided the best way to help them was to talk about her cancer openly and so after sponsored walks, open gardens and funeral contributions their efforts have raised in excess of £14,000 (before this tribute page created).

Hazel lived a good life, always kind to others, she was the bright light in our world and will always be remembered in that way and we hope that the money that has been raised in Hazel's name will one day help others beat this 'silent killer.'

We will never get over Hazel's loss, too young and so much more life to live and we will always remember the beautiful person that she was,
