Grahame Samples

Grahame was a warrior and a rock, who always put his family first. His kindness and infectious smile will remain in our hearts forever
Two and half years ago, following swift diagnosis and referral for specialist care our beloved dad, Grahame, underwent Whipples procedure for pancreatic cancer. At the time he was 81 and we were told that not many people of his age would be considered fit enough for this major surgery. The surgery was followed by chemotherapy and ongoing pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy (PERT).
Since his diagnosis, our dad and our family have enjoyed many good times and have faced many challenging times. However, our dad remained strong, a fighter and a hero, cared for by his devoted family until his very sad death on the morning of fathers day, this year (2021). His love, his devotion to his family and his infectious smile will remain with us forever.
Many people with pancreatic cancer do not get a diagnosis in time for treatment, others are not prescribed PERT, meaning that they cannot digest the food they eat. Many families do not have much time to spend together, when one of them develops pancreatic cancer.
Please support the work of Pancreatic Cancer UK, so that other people with pancreatic cancer, and their families, can benefit from advances in diagnosis and management.
Thank you,
Jayne, Helen and Matthew (on behalf of our family)
