The best Dad and Grandad in the world.
When asked as a child, what he wanted to be, Dad replied, "someone's daddy". Well, he did that and much more. He was the best Dad and Grandad that anyone could ask for. He was a devoted family man who loved walking and gardening. He cared about the environment and was an animal lover too. It meant a lot to Dad to know that his grandchildren would also foster the love of the outdoors and would lead active lifestyles. Dad was sadly taken from us far too young. He was seemingly fit and healthy when diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in July 2020. Only 12 weeks later, on 8th November 2020, aged 67, he passed away with us by his side. Dad didn't want to see others suffer like he did, or for other families to have to suffer such a terrible loss. If he had beaten pancreatic cancer he would have made it his mission to raise awareness, and bring about change. We are here now, doing that in his honour. As a family, we are also eternally grateful to Pancreatic Cancer UK for the advice they gave during Dad's illness. It's with thanks to them, that we knew that we could get Dad the necessary care at home, so he did not need to die alone in a hospice.
