Anne Fairbank

Mum, Nan, Sister and Aunt who liked to dance and a glass or two of gin.
Mum was diagnosed on Jan 8th and our world fell apart that day. Despite her better judgement she endured 6 months of chemo and she fought all the way but alas this horrendous disease claimed her on the 28th October. Most people who are diagnosed pass away within 3 months and Mum had 10 months, so for that we are grateful. Her strength of character, fitness (she would hate me saying that) and sense of humour kept her going until the end.
Only 6% of the research fund, funds pancreatic cancer and has moved up to 11th place in the cancer listing, not something to be proud off. More money is needed to create a screening programme and more research is needed to help prevent and fight this disease. This was always considered a disease of the elderly but alas, it seems that the younger age groups are affected more, which raises its own questions.
Please donate in Mums memory and help fight the good fight.
Thank you,
